These youth also participate in the National Underwater Lakes and Rivers Clean Up on Lake Ouachita. Students also participate in caving and rock climbing programs studying underground ecosystems at Blanchard Springs Caverns with Ozark-St. Francis National Forest personnel. This program also allows for many students from area schools to participate in one day environmental education programs throughout the school year. The program is also a unique incentive for youth to continue participation in the program and become positive role models for the new children coming into the Ranger Team. This includes a constant check on the Rangers’ grades, home life, attitudes, and conduct. |
