The NLR PAL Martial Arts Program offers two different Martial Arts styles under BeALERT Martial Arts.
We are a School, not a Business!
TaeKwonDo:
Warriors (9-17 yrs)
- Tuesday 6  p.m. until 7 p.m.
- Thursday 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Little Warriors (5-9 yrs)
- Thursday 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.
This is a traditional TaeKwonDo school. We utilize the Palgwe Poomse (forms) and Olympic style Sparring.
TaeKwonDo is a Korean Martial Art. It has the largest number of practitioners in the world. We are affiliated with USA TaeKwonDo (USAT #5892) and we use the World TaeKwonDo Federation guidelines.
In Korean "Tae" means "foot", "Kwon" means "fist" and "Do" means "way". So loosely translated, TaeKwonDo means "the way of the foot and fist".

American Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu:
(9-100 yrs) - Tuesdays 7 p.m. until 8 p.m.
This is a traditional Jujitsu class and the only Martial Arts class in the PAL program adults are permitted to participate in. All students 18 and older are required to purchase their own uniforms and make periodic donations to NLR PAL. (No monthly charges, but belt testing fees will apply)
Students have the option of two uniform choices. Either a traditional white Judo style uniform or any Military BDU style uniform.
Jujitsu is a Japanese fighting art based on the combat techniques of the ancient Samuria. It encompasses both standing and ground techniques.
Historically Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu was founded by Akiyama Shirobei Yoshitoki, a physician from Nagasaki. It is sometimes referred to as "the School of the Willow Spirit (or Heart)". Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu dates back to before 1671.
In Japanese "Ju" means "soft or gentle" and "Jitsu" means "art or technique". So Jujitsu translates to the "Gentle Art".
We are regisered with the American Federation of Jujitsu (AFJ), the Gospel Martial Arts Union (GMAU) and the International Combat Martial Arts Union Association  (ICMAUA).

If you are interested in taking any of the Martial Arts classes you can come by the Levy PAL Center during one of the listed class times and speak with one of our BlackBelt Instructors.
Classes are subject to availability.
