The North Little Rock Police Department Ranger Dive Program is an environmental education program that fosters respect for community, while at the same time instilling a great appreciation for the ecosystem and the aquatic environment.

This non-profit program is a facet of the original Ranger Program run by North Little Rock Police Officers and the staff at Ocean Extreme Dive &Travel Center, Inc. The program allows youth from all areas of the city to experience the world of diving and environmental stewardship.

NLRPD Ranger Program benefits to the environment, wildlife, environmental education or public health.

The goal of the Ranger program is to allow youth an opportunity to experience an environment which is different than their own. It allows children an opportunity to extract themselves from the stress of life and gives a chance for them to have a free mind to approach everyday social problems. The program educates them on environmental facts that allow them to become stewards of the environment in their communities. By giving these youth alternative interests and activities and allowing them to have positive mentors and input into their community, they are more likely to become responsible and productive adults.
